Dr. April is a racial trauma expert and a leader in her field, advocating for the mental health needs of Black children. Focused on the sustainable empowerment of Black youth, Dr. April has researched and implemented trainings, certificate programs, and professional development opportunities to create culturally competent mental health clinicians and play therapists capable of supporting and addressing the unique needs of Black youth and their families.
